required to provide rent
certificates for renters claim
ing property tax refunds,
reports John J. Lobdell, direc
tor of the Oregon Department
of Revenue.
Lobdell says the 1975 legis
lature dropped the require
ment of the rent certificate. It
is now the responsibility of the
renters to provide accurate
information on the amount of
rent paid during the year.
Lobdell says that renters
must fill out a special part of
the property tax refund claim
form (70-R) with addresses,
names of landlords, rental
