Friends and patrons of the bank came from Portland, Pendleton, Milton-Freewater, John Day and Arlington. In the branding iron cere mony, 66 local cattle brands were burned into blocks of wood. These blocks will be hung in the bank lobby. More brands would have been burned, but the bank ran out of blocks and more have been ordered. The display of cattle brands should reach 72. Door prize winners were: Mrs. John Skow, tabletop oven: Dave Harrison, clock radio; Betty Pettyjohn. $25 U.S. Savings Bond; and John Kilkenny, electric hedge clippers.
