The busy planning commis
sion met with the city councils
of Lexington, lone and Irrigon
at the request of the State
Department of Commerce to
establish uniform procedures
for processing and issuing
building permits. The objec
tive of the meeting, held in the
Lexington School. March 10,
was to adopt standardized
procedures to supply informa
tion regarding zoning, sewer
facilities, water facilities and
fire facilities to be compiled
and to accompany building
permit applications. The De
partment of Commerce hopes
. that by doing this delays and
confusion can be avoided.
The county planning de
. partment also discussed the
procedures that have been
implemented in the county
office and the forms employ
ed, together with examples of
other city and county forms
and procedures.
Planner David Moon called
a special meeting of the
Special Ad Hoc Committee
and the Advisory Committee
on Housing on March 12 at 8
p m.. at the Morrow County
office at Park Drive Inn in
Irrigon. The objective of this
second meeting of the Ad Hoc
Committee w as to formalize a
recommended revision to the,
Morrow County Comprehen
sie Plan in regard to rural
and urban residential devel
opment. Members of Ihe committee
