Arbuckle
won't
open
The Arbuckle Ski Resort
will not be opera ( ed this year
according to Dick McElligott.
The decision not to operate
ihe run stems from a shortage
in qualified ski patrolmen.
McElligott said the National
Ski patrol has raised its
standards in first aid training,
and ski patrolmen who have
served in Ihe past are now
unqualified and cannot meet
Ihe new standards in Ihe time
available. Ski patrolmen are a
condition of the resort's use
permit .
The ski club can st ill operate
by going to Spout Springs.
McElligoii said, w here lessons
can Ik1 obtained. This policy
will Ik1 carried out during
February and March, with
iransxrtaiion by private car.
All members are required to
purchase accident insurance
prior lo Ihe first trip.
Volunteers are still needed
to drive Ihe skiers, but the

seconds left in the game, had
to settle for a 71-69 win over
the Pilot Rock Rockets. Satur
day night at the Rockets
gymnasium.
After Raining the S-point
lead the Rockets took the ball
and rolled the ball inbounds,
down Ihe court, holding the
clock to the precious time left
in the game. The ball was
picked up and the Rockets
scored, narrowing the Mus
tangs lead to 3 points. An
inlMHtnd pass by the Mustangs
was stolen by the Rockets,
good for another 2 points and
narrowing the lead to a single
point. An attempt to steal the
ball from the Mustangs after
inhounding the ball again gave
the Mustangs two free throws
with no time left on Ihe clock
and leading by I point. The
first shot was missed and the
second basket was good,
giving ihe Mustangs a 2 point
win over the Rockets.
