David Steagall and his
sister, Jana, Lexington, took
honors in the Western States
Junior Rodeo Association fi
nals at John Day, Aug. 24-25
Dave, 14, won breakaway
calf roping with a 4.5 giving
him the points to win the
buckle for the year. He also
placed 3rd in team roping with
Lynn Parsons and was 6th in
the barrels and tied for 5th and
6th in calf riding.
Jana, 12, won the Junior
Girls Ail-Around with a 2nd in
polebending, 3rd in calf riding
and 4th in goat tying. This
gave Jana 2nd place in the
yearly all-around rating.
These prize winners are the
children of Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Steagall.
Three Heppner institutions
donated money toward prizes
at John Day: First National
Bank, Wranglers and Heppner
Laundromat.
