A class on center-pivot

offered in Boardman next
month by Blue Mountain
Community College.

overview of the mechanical
operation and maintenance of
the various types of systems
will be presented.

In all counties in Oregon which
have the four USDA agencies.
The centers will permit these
local USDA offices to provide
more technical assistance,
more information and other
services not now feasible with
a widely-dispersed, multiple
agency field office system.
Upgraded communications
capability, computer termi
nals and modern business
equipment are planned for
each service center.
In conjunction with the new
Agricultural Service Centers
in Oregon there will be 7,800
centers in the nation.
Farm tuel
available
Morrow County farmers
needing more diesel fuel may
request it by applying im
mediately to distributors,
according to Robert Jepsen,
lone chairman of the state
Agriculture Stablization and
Conservation Committee.
"The revision in the emer
gency fuel program is effec
tive for 60 days," said Jepsen.
"This revision will enable
farmers who need diesel
tractor fuel to continue their
farming activities."
According to the revision,
suppliers are obligated to give
farmers and ranchers pre
ference in supplying their
needs of diesel fuel.
State and county offices of
ASCS have been monitoring
the farm fuel situation for
months and assisting farmers
by reporting their fuel needs
to appropriate governmental
units.
, "Fuel supplies in Oregon
could be tight, and we need to
conserve energy here in
Morrow County," Jepsen said.
