Jerry A. Stefani. son of Mr.
and Mrs. Art Stefani Jr., lone,
Oct. 20. at 4 p.m.
The ceremony was read by
the Rev. Richard Cook at
Evangel Baptist Church. Port
land. Baskets of gladioli, roses,
and mums in fall colors of
yellow, orange, and brown,
and candelabra holding white
candles were on each side of
the altar.
The bride, given in mar
riage by her father, Troy
Talley. wore a white gown
trimmed with white eyelet
lace on the collar, cuffs and
hem. The gown had puffy
white sleeves, a smocked
bodice and a long sash. The
veil was waist-length. She
carried a bouquet of white
roses and carnations.
Maid of honor was Becky
Talley, sister of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Sarah Tal
lev and Pat Pedersen. sisters
of the bride. Flower girl was
Kristen Pedersen and candle
lighters were Dennis Stefani
. and Jimmy Falls.

nursing home
The November meeting of
the Garden Club was held at
the Heppner Nursing Home.
Mrs. Gar Swanson and Mrs.
Lee Pettyjohn were hostesses.
The members visited with
patients in the home.
Mrs. FredriclMartin-presented
a program featuring
slides of flowers accompanied
by recorded music. Mrs.
Norman Nelson, membership
chairman, presented Mrs.
Elsie Fox with a green felt
covering for her thumb, sym
bolizing the Green Thumb
award.
Members of the Garden
Club prepared tray favors for
the nursing home residents,
using dried materials.
The next meeting of the
Garden Club will be Dec. 12 at
the home of Mrs. Fredrick
Martin.

Church. Pouring were Mrs.
Roland Bergstrom, lone, Mrs.
Teresa Turner, Eugene. Mrs.
George Heath. Portland, and
Mrs. George O'Neill, Tacoma.
Margaret Schommer, Port
land, attended the guest book.
The bride attended Portland
State University and teaches
physical education, English,
and home economics at lone
High School. The groom
attended University of Oregon
and is part-owner of Stefani
Athletic Supply.
The couple will reside in
lone.

The double-ring service was
performed by Pastor Neil F.
King, before an altar deco

The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Ralph Earwood of
Boardman, and the groom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith
Filer of Amboy, Wn.
The nuptial music was

the U.S. Navy, stationed in
Bremerton, Wn.

bowl. Vicky Califf. niece of the
bride, had the guest book, and

Califf. niece of the bride, and
Ruth Sheadel. sister of the
groom.
For her daughter's wedding
Mrs. Earwood wore a brown
print dress; the groom's
mother wore a navy blue print
dress.
The bride is a graduate of
Riverside High School and the
groom is a graduate of
LaCenter High School. La
Center. Wn. After a trip to
Mexico the couple will live at
Adak. Alaska, where the
groom is stationed with the
U S. Navy.

TOPS WIN PRIZES

Lexington's TOPS Club has
gained a challenge trophy
from the lone club as the
result of their three-month
losing contest. Lexington
members are now within 10
pounds of the goal they set for
total club loss in 1973.
At their last November
meeting, Nov. 26, Mary
Doherty was honored as
Queen of The Month. The
Horse Race Contest ended
with prizes going to Irene
Padberg for her win. During
this contest she lost 16 pounds
and qualified as a KOPS in
waiting. Catie Padberg won
the place prize with a 10 pound
loss and Karen Springer won
the show prize by losing 8
pounds.
The club has launched a new
contest which they call The
Sewing Basket Contest.

will be the lesson presented hv
Alberta Johnson, OSU exten
sion family finance specialist,
Dec. 13, in Pendleton.
The lesson deals with how a
family chooses and uses a
lawyer, and transactions such
as. signing a contract, acci
dents, buying real estate, and
teenage and the law.
Morrow and Umatilla coun
ties extension study groups
and organized women's clubs
are invited to attend. The
lesson will begin at 10 a.m. at
the Pioneer Hall. Blue Moun
tain Community College.
