original project which helped
to develop the atomic bomb.

. krebs Bros, sheep returned
from Montana Nov. 13. Twenty-one
carloads were unloaded
at Arlington. Henry Krebs
reported a chmook wind came
two days before they loaded
out. The temperature went
from -5 degrees to 45 degrees
in a time period of 30 minutes.
The snow melted rapidly and
by loading time it was gone.
Krebs Bros have had sheep
in Gilliam and Morrow coun
ties for 45 years. In that length
of time, they have never found
it necessary to keep herders'
wagons padlocked. Times
have changed
After the sheep were un
loaded and the herders went
to their wagons to retire after
the long trip, they found both
wagons had been entered and
the stoves stolen.
A contemporary band con
cert was given Nov. 15 in the
school cafetonum. Miss Sher
rie Bahr conducted the pro
gram oi choral selections and
numbers by the high school
band A cake walk was held
afterwards, and proceeds
went to the band fund.
The Masons hosted a ban
quet for the lone Cardinal
football team and men faculty
members Nov. 16 in Ihe
cafetonum. Lewis Halvorsen.

A Basketball Officials Clinic
was held recently at the gy m

Purpose of the clinic was to
point out new rules in force
this year. Special emphasis

The November business
meeting of Beta Omega Chap
ter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha
was held Nov. 13 at the home
of Mrs. John Edmundson.
The social for November
will be a Silver Tea to be held
at the home of Mrs. Charles
Doherty. Nov. 27. 8 p.m. The
affair is in honor of new
pledges. The Holiday Bazaar is to be
held Dee 8 beginning at 9 a.m.
at the lone Legion Hall. Baked
goods, handwork and new and
used items will be available.
The Junior Hi Sunday
School began this season with
an enrollment of nine, John
Lindstrom. Brian Rietmann,
Scott Sherer. Leland White,
Bud Kincaid. Kristi Edmund
son. Arietta Aldrich, Tammy
Tucker and Liza Martin.
On a trip to the Lloyd Center
in Portland with some of last
year's students, the group
tried their luck with ice
skates The trip was an award
to last year's students for
writing a play on the Cruci
fixion of Christ. For the new
students, it was for working
towards the Easter Special,
"The different stages in Jesus'
life."

Next month they plan lo
have stuffed animals on dis
play. Raffle tickets will b

drawing will be held Half

little boy the church has
adopted. The balance will be
donated lo the Yawn Child
Car Center. Christian
organization for homeless
children or children whose
parents are unable to care for
them.
This year's class hopes to
have open discussions be
tween parents and students.
Plans are for students and
parents to present questions
they would like to discuss in
class once a month. Opinions
from parents would be ap
preciated by the class.
