NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at the community
colli'fte bond election hereby culled, to be held on November

there will be submitted to the qualified voters thereof the
question of contracting a bonded indebtness on the sum of
Sl.iiiio.oiMi for the purpose of providing funds with which to
construct, equip or furnish a college building or buildings or
additions thereto and to improve all property connected
therewith in such community college district.
The vote shall be by ballot upon which shall be the words
"Bonds yes" and "Bonds r.o", and the voter shall place a
cross x'i or check mark ) between the words "Bonds" and
the word. "yes" or between the word "Bonds" and the word
"no", whichever indicates his choice.
The bonds to be issued shall be general obligation bonds for
a term not exceeding twenty (20) years.
Thepotls for the reception of the ballots cast for or against
the contraction of such indebtedness will, on the date and at
the place described above, be opened at the hour of 8 a.m.
and remuin open until the hour of 8 p.m. of the same day, at
which hour the polls shall be closed.

The Heppner District Uma
tilla National Forest, will
again be using a helicopter to
apply fertilizer and grass seed
to disturbed soil areas created
by timber harvesting.
This method of spreading
fertilizer and seed has been
found to be more effective and
economical than hand appli
cation. Areas to be treated this
week will be in the following
limber sale areas: Wheeler
Creek. Elkhorn. Little Bear
and Kinzua Road.

Club celebrated Its 25th anni
versary Tuesday of last week
by having a surprise house
warming potluck supper for
Mrs. LaVern Partlow in her
new mobile home.
Mrs. Partlow was presented
with a gift for her home.
The club was organized in
1945, but was not affiliated
with the Oregon Federation of
Women's Clubs until 1948.
Charter members were pre
sented with corsages. They
included Mrs. Partlow, Mrs.
Zoe Billings, Mrs. Roy
Partlow, Mrs. Ronald Black,
Mrs. Dewey West Jr. and Mrs.
Ralph Skoubo.
The club is planning to hold
a combination food sale and
bazaar Friday, Nov. 30, at the
Inland Empire Bank, 10 a.m.
to 5:30 p.m.
The next meeting will be
held at the home of Mrs. Gary
Petteys, Nov. 13, with Mrs.
Jerry Peck as co-hostess.
There were five tables of
pinochle in play at the card
party held at the Greenfield
Grange hall Friday evening,
sponsored by the Women's
Activity Committee of the
grange. The evening started
with potluck supper at 6:30
p.m. Hostesses were Hazel
Carpenter and Mrs. Frank
Marlow.
High prizes were won by
Mrs. Ed Kuhn and Mrs. Zoe
Billings. Second highs went to
Mrs. Walter Wyss and Faye
Anderson. The two latter also
received the traveling pinoch
le prizes.
