Preliminary work calls for

of the existing main, which
are nonopertible. It also in
cludes installation of a check

After some discussion as to
the legality of transferring
funds from one fund to
another, Langenwolter told
thecouncil, "Any monies set

resolution can be closed out by
another resolution, provided
the city has no further use for

The City of Heppner, acting

have been beneficial to the

"If necessary we can now
pump 900 gallons per minute,"
he added, "which is an
increase of 250 gallons per
minute over last month."
In other matters, the council
considered Amamda Duvall'i
request to close a portion of
Baltimore Street for the
purpose of enlarging the
museum, However, they post
poned any action until the next
meeting, as there is the
possibility of an existing water
main in the road, which may
have to be relocated.
Discussed the possibility of
renaming the newly appointed
Water Quality Control Board
to the Utilities Board, thus
allowing the seven-member
panel to act on sewer as well
as water problems.
The next regular meeting of
the common council will be
held Tuesday, Sept. 4, follow
ing the Labor Day holiday.
