Ileppner from Hural Zone 5 and

In a re-organizational meet
ing immediately following the
annual meeting Walter Jaeger
of Condon wan re-elected
president; Dick Krctm of Cecil
vice chairman and Paul Tews of
lone secretary treasurer.
Attendance Good
There were 250 who enjoyed
the delicious ham dinner served
by the Methodist women of
Fossil and 2tU) attended the
meeting. Attendance was up
considerably from three years
ago when the lust annual
meeting was held at F'ossil.
That year there were 175 at the
dinner and I HO at the meeting.
President's Message
President Jaeger emphasized
the stability of the electric rates
over the last years, "We ore
pleased to have maintained the
same basic rates since our
inception and the same rates to
the town areas since we began
serving them eight years ago".
He paid tribute to Bill Stiewer
who had leen an invaluable
member of the board.
He noted the increase in the
use of electricity due to the
irrigation in the areas served by
Columbia Basin. There are
three electrical plants with
which Columbia Hasin is par
ticipating. A new plant at
Hnurdman which is in the
process of securing finuticial
backing, remodeling an old
atomic plant at Hanford and
another plant planned by Wash
ington Public Power Supply
System with which Columbia
Basin has signed a long term
power contract for 30 years.
Managers Report
Dave Harrison gave some of

working on the new line to

Condon and llardman. There
will be a sub station installed at
Ituggs. This oNration will he
completed by irrigation time
next summer.
Another crew is working in
the Olex area rebuilding lines,
installing new transformers and
changing to a different voltage.
The Condon crew is rebuilding
lines in Condon and Ixme Rock.
Auditor's lirport
The auditor reported the
report for 1972 was excellent.
The revenue increased from
$!KKi,24fi. in 1971 to $'178,509 in
1972. The margin above expense
was I177.B75.

league champion Umatilla dominated the 1972 Columbia Basin
Conference all star football team by placing seven indiviuals on the
select group.
The all-star team, selected by the conference football coaches,
was made up of It seniors, seven juniors, and long sophomore.
There were no repeaters from previous all star teams as this is the
first ever to be picked from th Columbia Basin. More than II
players are represented on the offensive and delensive team as ties
occurred in the balloting for positions.
Two players were unanimous choices for the offensive squad.
They are Kevin Morgan, senior, end of Condon, and Tim Barton,
senior, halfback of Umatilla.
Broken down by schools, the victorious Vikings, undeleated in
league play, led with seven selections. Ileppner earned four players
but for six positions, Condon and Pilot Bock each had four, Wasco
County had three named at four positions, and Sherman County
collected two.
The offensive team was made up of 12 seniors, two juniors, and
Bryce logan of Condon, the only sophomore named. The defensive
squad was composed of seven seniors and five iuniors.

on Dec. 7 and 8 are Valerie

(ages 17 - 21) and Lori
Bergstrom, lone, Junior Di
vision (ages 14 - 16). Valerie
wore red slacks with a plaid
shirt-jacket and Lori modeled a
navy blue shirtdress with white
overstitching. The alternates
are Karen Crowell, lone, Senior
and Anita Davidson, Lexington,
Junior. Karen wore a long blue
coat and Anita's outfit was a
brown pantsuit with plaid
jacket. In the Sub-Ded division
(ages 10 - 13), Dorene Gaylord
won 1st place with runner-up

from Hermiston. Kay Berg
