Working women
important
customers
The working woman who
shops is more interested in
time than money, reports the
Bureau of Advertising, and
may shop consistently at one
store rather than taking the
time to shop around from
store to store.
Because of her time short
age, however she tends to be a
careful shopper. A survey
shows that 67 percent go to the
store with a shopping list and
75 percent check advertising
for specials. In addition, the
survey shows that 80 percent
of working women read a
neswpaper on the average
day.
Since the working woman
shopper tends to do all her
food shopping on only one day
of the week, she depends on
complete stock and efficient
organization. She is most
interested in convenience
foods and buys more frozen
dinners, prepared salad dress
ing and instant ice-tea mixes.
The Bureau reports that the
working woman is rapidly
becoming the super-markets'
most important customer.
More than half the women in
the age between 18 and 64 hold
jobs and hence, help increase
the income of the family.
"It is Crucial to cater to the
working woman." says the
Bureau and advises stores to
provide more services, more
convenience foods and "Eas
ier to use advertising."

Gail Enrfzht
Six foot seven inch Gail Enright teaches Boys PE at Riverside
Junior High and Senior High. He is the 7th and Blh grade math
teacher. He's varsity basketball coach. He observed that the
enrollment had increased enough so that Riverside will be
moving out of the Big Sky Conference and will be in the
Columbia Basin Conference next year. They will be playing
lleppner, Umatilla, Pilot Rock, Wasco Co. (Maupin), Condon
and Sherman Co. iMoro).
While he is a 1972 graduate of EOC, he attended Treasure
Valley at Ontario for two years where he met his wife the former
Shirley Sunt Irnm Halfway.
Since Mr. Enright is from Monument it is understandable that
his hobbies include fishing and hunting. His wife shares his
enthusiasm for fishing.
Of his first teaching assignment, he said, "I really enjoy it at
Riverside. The people are friendly. It's going to be interesting to
watch the changes. I like it".
