agenda was to plan the

ram Topics discussed were
consumer problems; cultural
advancement . international
relations, the crisis in public
education; ecology and legis
lation. The AAl'W plans to have
small study groups, member
presented programs and an
occasional guest speaker

Baby Boy Osmin
It's another boy for Mr. and
Mrs. Al Osmin of Heppner.
Saturday Sept Hi at 5:45 little
Kick Lee Osmin was born in
the Good Shepherd Hospital at
Hermiston. Kick, who weigh
ed li lbs. 'a ounce, joins a 2
year old brother, Jess, at
home.
Grandparents are AL.
Osmin and the late Mrs.
Osmin of Heppner, and Mater
nal grandparents Mr. and
Mrs. A.K. Felt of Hermiston.
Mrs. Velton Haskins, of Merr
ill, Oregon and Mrs. Bessie
Niltten, of Redmond, Oregon
are great -grandmothers.

recently to my desk on a letter
mailed from Salem. It is a
black slate with yellow frame

Teacher Association US in a
child's script.
LEXINGTON ATTRACTS...
residents of Lex were curious
about a handsome vehicle
seen cruising their town last
week. The blue and white
panel was beautifully lettered
in gold with the name
I - E - X - I - N - G - T - ON .
The mystery was
soivod at the Post Office. The
dance combo had seen the
name Lexington on the free
way and came by to look it
over on their way to an
engagement in Spokane. They
stopped at the Lexington Post
Office to buy cards and mail
them postmarked Lexington,
the same name they had
chosen for their dance band.

and Edward Groshens ex
changed wedding vows in a
double ring ceremony on
September 16. in Medford. The
Rev. Calvin Chinn, First
Presbyterian Church, Med
ford. officiated.
The wedding was held in the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert
Huff, longtime friends of the
groom.
The bride is the daughter of
Judge and Mrs. Earl Wolving
ton, Sterling, Colorado and the
groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Victor Groshens, Hepp
ner, Oregon.
For her wedding, the bride
wore an empire silhouette
gnwn of satin peau, accented
with appliques of Alencon
lace, which were embroidered
with tiny seed pearls. The long
Bishop sleeves also had appli
ques of Alencon lace and

freshing accent for the usual

classes and activities.
Heads are in lower case that
I like. Original poetry here
and there adds spice. It is
really an interesting book.
Dennis Toney, advisor, says
that here and there and doing
their own paste up, the book
was reduced from a cost of
$1600. to $1000. Congratula
tions to Jeanne Daly and her
crew it is really a good book!

Mr. Groshens is Manager of
the South Riverside Branch,
First National Bank of Oregon
in Medford and the bride is
employed by Pacific Power
and Light.
The couple will make their
home in Medford.

Eric weighed 6 pounds and II
ounces and Joins two sisters,

one brother. Greg age 6.
Maternal grandparent are

Heppner, and paternal grand
parents are Mr. and Mrs.
AIImtI Connor, Heppner. Eric
has three great -grandmothers.
Two live in Heppner Mrs.
Alice l.uttrell and Mrs. Alma
Morgan. The other great
grandmother Mrs. Mary
Nogawski live in Ledger
Wood. North Dakota.
Although Eric arrived in the
early afternoon, Shirley's
Dix'tor could not be located
and Eric was delivered by Dr.
Brennan, Internal Medicine.
It had been 30 years since Dr.
Brennan had delivered a buby
but all went well and Eric and
his mother were dismissed
from the hospital on Wednesday.

The bride was given in mar
riage by her father.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Van Beek,
of Salem . The groom is the son
or Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Craber
of Heppner.
For the wedding the bride
chose a floor -length ivory lace
gown, over ivory satin peau de
soie. The unusual sailor-type
collar was outlined with a
ruffle of lace. Her sleeves
were ruffled at the wrist. She
wore an ivory satin belt with a
bow at the front. The softly
gathered skirt was bordered
in six rows of lace.
Her illusion shoulder length
veil was held by a coronet of
net and flowers.
The bride carried a bouquet
of yellow and white daisies,
lily-of-lhe-valley and Stephan
otis. Miss Martha Brown, of
Salem, was the bridesmaid
and carried a smaller version
of the bridal bouquet. Miss
Ann Marie Glassey, niece of

The newlyweds greeted the
guests at a reception held in
the church Social Hall. Mrs.
Fred K. Brock, aunt of the
bride, acted as hostess assist
ed by Miss Daphne Gugler,
Mr. Daniel Pollard, and Mrs.
Naomi Sheridan, all of Salem.
Following their honeymoon,
the couple will reside in
Eugene, where Mr. Cralier is
Director of a Business Col
lege. It's a girl
Alvin and Julie Ashbeck
announce the arrival of their
child. Jodee Alene was born
Sept. 11 at The Dalles. She
weighed 7 lbs. 94 ozs.
Alvin was with the National
Guard that weekend and
because the baby was due any
time, they had him stay on
duty at Hood River.
Grandparents are Mr. and
Mrs. Earl Ayres of The Dalles
and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Ashbeck
of Butter Creek.
