at her home were Wednesday

Elizabeth M. Haldy was
born Jan. 20, 1889 in Mece
don Center, New York, the
daughter of Edward Mott and
the former Ada Miller. As
a child she moved with her
family to Michigan where she
attended grade school at Ba
sin Valley, near Adrian
Michigan, then on to high
school at Cleveland, Ohioand
aStended She Cleveland Bible
Institute graduating in 1910.
She pastoredSheCampCUse,
Ohio Friends Church, then
the Friends Church in Te
Cumsah, Mich, prior to hei
marriage to Arthur J. Haldy
in Cleveland, Ohio on Oct.
15, 1313. He also was a
pastor of She Friends Church
and they pasSored churches in
Ohio, Tennessee, Oklahoma,
owa and Washington before
coming to Oregon. From
1936 to 1941 they served
the Sherwood and Middleton
Friends Churches, then
moved So Rex until 1951 when
they moved to PorSland.
They moved to Newberg and
She Friendview Manor in
1961. Her husband preced
ed her in deaSh in July, 1363.
he was a recorded muster
of the Friends Church and a
member of the Newberg
Friends Church.
Surviving are: One son, a
minister of the. Nazarene Chu
rch in Billing, Montana, Ed
ward L. Haldy, two daugh
ters, Josephine H. Howell
of Spray, Oregon and Frances
L. Haldy of Kansas Cily, Mis
souri; one broSher, Bernard
E. Mott, Sr. of Brea, Ca
lifornia; one sister, Edith
Lowell of Portland; 3 grand
children, and 5 great grandchildren.

truck

and machinery shed aS She

The fire was well underway
before discovered and re
ported. A motile home adjacent to
the building received some
damage with large windows
broken by the heat. Irri
gon's new pumper truck was
credited with saving it from
loss.
