into a courtyard. On the
first floor, there's a laun
dromat. Sid Scribner of Beaverton
bought the building and Jim
and Joy Carr have been the

The Bob Lovgren cabin was
the setting for the annual
party of the AnncitaPinochle
Club of Lexington, June 17.
After a potluck chicken
dinner, the group enjoyed an
evening of cards. High prize
for the men and women went
to Joe and Hilda Yocom. Low
went to Gene and Phyllis
Cole, and second high to Del
bert Piper and BaroaraCuts
forth. Everyone at the party
won a prize.
The group also celebrated
Gene Cole's birthday, and en
joyed a cake made and deco
rated by Mrs. Pete Hams,
lone.
Those attending besides the
prize winners were Phyllis
Piper, Roy and Juanita Mar
tin, Orviile Cutsforth, Stan
and Shirley Cox, and Bob
and Vonnie Lovgren.
The annual is held each
spring and allows the women
belonging to the club to bring
their husbands for an evening
of fun. It also marks the last
meeting of the club until fall.
Palmers host
celebration
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Pal
mer, Lexington, hosted a
celebration at their home
June 13 in honor of Fat
her's Day. A large group
of Palmers, Crabtrees, and
other family members and
friends turned out for the
day.
Representing the Crabtrees
were Mr. and Mrs. LeoCrab
tree, Cecil, their daughters
and families: Mrs. Sharon
Gelinas, Timmy and Alisa
of Caldwell, Id.; Mrs. Blanch
Scheeler, also of Caldwell;
and Mrs. Carolyn McCabe,
Ashley, Kevin, and James of
Pullman, Wa.
Also attending were Mr.
and Mrs. Ken Marshall, Lex
ington; Mr. and Mrs. Gene
Majeske and Debbie, Lexing
ton; Mr. and Mrs. Bud Mar
shall and family, Heppner;
Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Rea and
family, Condon.
Home from Juneau, Alaska,
in time for the celebration
were Janet Crabtree and
Scott, the Palmer's daughter
and grandson.

tion has covered each route,
checking time, mileages and
stops.
The board voted to sell
the Boardman lot to Vic Mar
cnek at a price equal to the
amount that the adjacent lots
sold for. This is in the
vicinity of $2200.

applied at a rate of 100 tons

2" deep plots were rototil
led into 6" of soil, the 4"
into 4" of soil and the

ed. Nitrogen was added and the
20 x 120 foot plots were
planted to wheat last fall as
a cover crop. It was turn
ed under this spring and
the plots were planted to al
falfa and fescue.
The plots provide variables
in waste, nitrogen and crops

sion of Oregon State. Soil
temperatures are recorded,
water retention measuredand
chemical analysis of the soil
is made. The plots are at
the rocket test site. Solid
