Topic Club Hosts
Annuo I Tea for
Senior Girls
An arrangement of pink dai
ses and tilte lily of the
valley centered the tea table
at the Senior Girls tea,
sponsored by the lone Topic
Club May 10 In the home of
Mrs. Mtlton Morgan. Each
senior girl was presented
with a small gift.
Mothers of the senior girls
were invited as well as the
high school women faculty
members. Barbara Talley,
Sarah Andrew, and Mrs. Ja
mes Anderson, Mrs, Ed
Hiemstra, school secretary,
Mrs. Dennis Brandon, wife
of the principal, and Susan
Lindstrom were also special
guests.
Mrs. Elmer Ladd poured
the punch and Mrs. Vera
Rietmann served the coffee.
Mrs. Charles Carlson and
Mrs. Jim West assisted the
hostesses.
Mrs. Morgan began the pro
gram with a welcome to the
guests and Introduced Mrs.
John Proud foot, president of
Topic Club. Mrs. Norman
Nelson cave a history of the
Topic Club, including its
goals, objectives, and
achievements. Mrs. Roy W.
Lindstrom gave a reading
pertaining to graduation.
The senior girls and their
mothers who were present
for the annual affair were:

Has Dinner-Dance
The lone Eighth grade
graduating class was honored
with a buffet dinner spon
sored by the parents on May
13. Streamers of purple and
orange accented with white
snowball flower arrange
ments were on the tables.
Fried chicken was served
to the 43 guests present.
Among the guests were tea
chers, Bartara Talley, Class
advisor; Darrel Wilson, Jer
ry Martin, and Principal Den
nis Brandon. Special guest
was a former teacher, Mrs.
John Wagenblast.
The Seventh graders Join
ed the graduates for a dance
that followed the dinner.

Into the National Agriculture
Honorary. Alpha Zeta, which
has chapters on SB college
campuses.
To qualify, an initiate has
to be in the upper two-thirds
of his class scbolastlcally.
The OSU chapter has been
currently working on expand
ing the agricultural wing at
OMSI and Is setting up and

was the theme of the 1972
Heppner High School prom
held Miy 13 In the HHS ca
feteria. The oriental theme
was carried out with cherry
trees, ocean pictures and dra
gons on the walls, chimes,
lanterns, and a half-moon
bridge over a small stream
at the entrance.
Jill Rugg and Steve Rhea
were croned queen and king
at intermission. The court
was Debbie M:Leod, June
Ledbetter, Charlie Pointer,
and Jim Van Winkle.
Muisc was provided by
"Round Trip," a four piece
band from Portland. Tbey
played all types of music-
specializing in requests.

banquet of Riverside High
School was held Mon. night
at the Elks Club in Hermis
ton with 76 attending. Spec
ial guests were the faculty
and other school personnel.
Bruce Russell, junior class
president, gave the welcome,
and Tony Barnhart, senior
president, the response. The
class history was given by
Wanda Johnson and Joni Til
ler, the last will and testa
ment by Debbie Abercrombie
and Kathy flyan. The class
prophecy was presented in the
form of a taped film.
