Cedar Falls, Iowa on Oct. 12
1887.
After her mother's death,
she was reared by her aunt,
Mrs. Mary E. Fisher, Hose
burg. During her lifetime,
Mrs. Hurgoyne was a tele
phone oorator and a school
teacher in Cedar Falls. She
was employed at the J.K. Gill
rental library In Portland.
She also operated a pie shop
in Oregon City with her hus
band, Fred, who passed away
In 1930.
She is survived by a son,
Fred, Klamath Falls; a daugh
ter, Frances Smouse, lone;
five grandchildren and four
great grandchildren; nu
merous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hurgoyne was a
member of the Order of
Eastern Star for 49 years,
of Locust Chapter No. 119
of lone, of the Lexington
Grange and the lone United
Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son,
Fred Burgoyne, Klamath
Falls; and one daughter;
Frances Smouse, lone; five
grandchildren and four great
