Appearing before the el
ementary school student body
with a most talented gymnast,
Mr. Al Carter, was a mighty
thrilling experience for Wade
Padberg, Mike Orwick, and
Tamie Toll. Mr. Carter in
volved the three students in
his demonstrations on the
trampoline.
A few girls from the high
school came with their in
structor Dorothy Agee to en
joy this assembly which fea
tured the gymnast who had
performed in both the 1960
and 1964 Olympics. He has
been crowned all-around gym
nastic champion for 5 north
western states. His home Is
in Portland and for several
years he has been performing
before school groups.

Specifications have been
submitted to Western Elec
tric Co. who manufactures
P.N.B.'i equipment, for con
struction of a switching panel
which will be housed locally
to meet the community's
growing need.
Planning and engineering of
the project have been going
on for more than a year and
is just a portion of the Com
pany' overall plan for up
grading facilities and ser
vices according to Slusher.
The local project which Is
tentatively scheduled for ser
vice in September of this
year, will include under
ground cable as well as ser
vice lines where feasible
communication will be less
congested than on the present
8 party lines.
