Recycle newspapers to bricks
A California mechanical en
gine'er has developed a way to
make bricks from old newspa
pers. At the rate of 72 pages
per brick. The pages are shred
ded, pulped with water, squeez
ed out, mixed with sodium sili
cate, bypsum, a kind of cement
called pozzolan and formed un
der pressure 2000 pounds per
sq. inch. After drying for about
a week, each brick weighs two
pounds, is water and fire re
sistant. Cost is two to four cents
per brick.

Diane McLachlan led a dis
cussion on the Youth Council

ly. The Luther League discussed
