IC. I
Roof Pieces
The student at lone schools
went after the rof that "went
with the wind" In liist week'ti
wind storm. The wind neatly
peeled off the layer of three-
ply roofing paper down to the
wihkI of the roof over the cafe
teria and over the shop. Piece
of tar paper were scattered over
a wide area. There were CO kids
working about 4 hours for a to
.tul of 210 kid hour picking up
th(, debris.
Darrell James supervised the
11th graders a they went up
3rd Ave. picking up the tar pa
per pieces in the street and In
people s yard. Del LaRuc went
with the 9th graders as they
picked up around the school.
Darrel Wilson and the 10th
grader picked up off the foot
ball field. Lynn Killpack took 8
boys up on the roof and clean
ed off the tattered bits of tar
paper and pulled all the nails.
The latter saved the district a
bout $100 in labor costs when
the roofing company came to
put on the new roof.
The Seniors were on a field
trip to the EOSH and didn't get
in on any of the cleanup.
Principal Dennis Brandon had
nothing but praise for the way
the students got out and work
ed. TO THE
EDITOR. . .
To the Editor:
I am writing this in hones
you will print it, please. This
Ls in regards to the decision of
the local doctors who have said
Heppner doesn't need a third
doctor. Yes we DO need a third
doctor. In the past years we've
always had room for a third doc
tor. When we need a doctor
now, a doctor Is usually gone
on a vacation or hunting or fish
ing.
We need a good surgeon. Here
in Morrow County we have a
good hospital. So many now are
seeking doctors In Hermiston
and Pendleton. Why not ask the
people here In Morrow County
and take a vote? Plenty of room
for three doctors and keep them
all three busy.
So we would like to see a
new doctor come to our aid in
our fair city. Thank you.
(Editors note: by request the
writer's name has been with
held).

Zoning Ordinance Reviewed
The proposed zoning ordin

Two zone categories contained
in the County ordinance were
deleted as not applicable to the
City's plan. These were exclus
