Grange met on Saturday night
with the Master Ed Hunt. In the
chair. The Legislative chairman
gave a report on the need of
more financing of the Legislat
ive Committee of the Grange at
the State Legislature. Carl Mar
quardt, Kenneth Smouse and Al
fred Nelson, Jr., were appointed
td study this further and have
a report for the December meet
ing. Mr. Smouse reported that
he had attended the Wheat
League meeting held recently in
Arlington, where they discussed
the dock strike, and wheat
transportation. Members were
reminded of the Christmas Light
ing contest for the Lexington
voting precinct, and were urged
to get the deccorations out ear
ly. : A letter from the Rodeo Board
was read, and discussed with
the group deciding again to
sponsor a Princess. It was de
cided to give Past Master pins
to all Past Masters who have
not received one, and a com
mittee of Ardith Hunt, Marie
Steagall, assisted by the Mas
ter Ed Hunt was appointed to
take care of this.
: Election of officers was held
with the following in office:

Carl Marquardt; Secretary, Jean
Nelson; Treasurer, Chas C.
Jones; Lecturer, Delpha Jones;
Chaplain, Marie Steagall; Gate
keeper, Paul Morey; Steward,

Flora, Carlita Marquardt; Assist
ant Steward, Kenneth Smouse;
Lady Assistant Steward, Fran
ces Smouse; Executive Commit
tee, Alfred Nelson, Jr., Ed Hunt,
O. W. Cutsforth. Installation of
officers will be held Dec. 5 at
the Willows Grange Hall in
lone, with an out of county in
stalling team. Refreshments
were served by the hostesses for
the evening, Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Yocom.
Christmas Bazaar Nov. 20

Dinner Served
Father Beard acted as master
of ceremonies at the dinner
which followed In the Parish
Hall. The 400 plus guests were
served In a matter of only a
few minutes by the St. Villlam'
Altar Society with Mrs. Kosclla
Lindsay, chairman. Both Bishop
Connolly and Bishop Leipzig
spoke. Mr. Mobsman and Mr.
Vixie were Introduced. Mr.
Vixie had his crew of workers
stand. Special guests of Father
Beard, Alice Hoffman and Joe
Hennossy from Massachusetts
sat at the head table as did
Judge and Mrs. Paul Jones,
Mayor and Mrs. Bill Collins.

was called to McMinnville, Ore.,
