June's Senior boys will present
the court with flowers, courtesy
of the Lettermen Club. The
Pendleton blanket will be pre
sented by the Junior class.
From 9:00 12:00 p.m.. Satur
day, October 23, In the lone
cafeteria the Homecoming
dance will take place, sponsor
ed by the Lettermen Club.
Music will be provided by the
Visual Image from Pilot Rock.
The 1971-72 Homecoming queen
will be officlully crowned and
her Court announced.

Two dedicated leaders, Don
Peterson and Dick McElligott,
both of lone, are calling for
other interested volunteer to
make up work crews this Sun
day. There must be some improv
ing done on the slope and tow
at Arhuckle Mountain. Come al
most any time during the day
light hours. Those with chain
saws please bring them.
Our area's youngsters felt de
prived last summer without the
swimming pool let's lie sure
they have a good ski slope this
winter. Several 4-H ski groups
use the slope regularly. It is
a real asset to all of Morrow
County.
Kour-11 parents, any adults,
any teenagers can feel good if
they will help, wil llnvolve
themselves in making the slope
ready.
Don Peterson also calls for
persons who are Interested in
helping on or with the ski pa
trol. He hopes they will con
tact him soon by telephone

Boy Badly Hurt,
Taken to Portland
Jeffrey Calhoun, 9, was badly
Injured In a car accident 21
miles S, E. of I.r;pj?.ncr Saturday
morning at 10:30. Jeffrey wiiS
riding with his mother, Mrs.
Joe L. Calhoun, Portland, and
his sister Karen when their cur
went off a gravel road (Forest
Service Rd. No. 415). Deputy
Sheriff Larry Fetsch Investigat
ed the aocldcnt
Alter Jeffrey was examined
by Dr. W. W. Wolff who con
sidered his condition "critical
he was transported In the Mor
row County ambulance: Bob
Lowe and Faye Pierce accom
panied him to Portland's Good
Samaritan Hospital.
Mrs. Calhoun and Karon were
not badly hurt. Dr. Wolff's of
fice has had no report from
Portland about Jeffrey.
