entries in the Morrow County
Fair cake decorating entries.
The Irrlgon area has had a 411
Cake Decorating club and BMCC
had a Cake Decorating course
in the county through their
Adult Education program.
Dorothy Zlnter got a First and
a Special award on her pink
and white and blue button
mums decorated cake.
Mildred Davidson had baked
a loaf cake and then decorated
it so it looked like an opened
florists' box filled with dozen
long stemmed red roses.
Marl Daltoso of Boardman re
celved a red ribbon on her cake
that looked like a Cowboy. Greg
Davidson had a 3rd on a doll
cake. The cake resembled a
skirt from Southern Colonial
days.

Ione's early season win over
Arlington then two weeks before
their next game produced a
void that was unsurmountable
for the Cardinals in their game
Saturday with Weston. Weston
mixed runing and passing in
good fashion to win 26 to 6.
Dick Snider put the Cardinals
on the score board in the final
period with a one-yard scoring
plunge. Other than that the
Cardinals didn't do a whole lot.

Their coach said that this
week they started coming back
and won't look as bad this Fri
day when they meet Echo at
lone at 2:30 p.m. Echo has not
been defeated yet this season.

Percy B. Conner of The Dalles
and his granddaughter, Miss
Annette Johnson of Beaverton
visited last Saturday with Mr.
Conner's sister, Lora Moyer and
her son Melvin.
Mr. and Mrs. Sid Zlnter. Jr..
are living out at the Zinter,
ranch. They were married in
July in La Grande. Mrs. Zlnter
is the former Mary Berryman
of La Grande. Both are gradu
ates of EOC. Mrs. Zinter has
her Masters from Oregon State
in math.

The Bob Lowes enjoyed en
tertaining Bob's cousins, Mr.
and Mrs. Charles Hynds and
their son Wayne recently. The
Hynds were vacationing from
their home at Owen Sound, On
tario, Canada. They entered the
U. S. at Detroit, Mich., and
came west; now they will go
east via British Columbia and
the Trans-Canada Highway.
While here thev accompanied
the Lowes to Dianne Mill's
Rainbow Installation, the Hynds'
first such experience.

er. While they were here they
visited with her brother-in-law

Episcopal pit barbecued supper.
Para Everhart was home from
Nampa Christian School last
weekend for her Dad's birthday.
The congregation at the Church
of the Nazarene enjoyed a pot
luck dinner after church in his
honor. Mrs. Ralph Crum made
the birthday cake.
Oregon State University has
reported an Increase In the
number of pledges at the end
of the first fall term rush per
iod. From Heppner, a pledge to
Delia Tau Delta is John R. Hall,
