ardent rock hounds and spent
last weekend in Lonerock col
lecting samples.
They are not the only ones
who are interested in the Lone-
rock stones. The hills around

elaborate Japanese garden with

1965.
William Robinson, a native of
Lonerock, and head gardener for
the Portland Park Bureau, select,
ed stones for the project.
Prof. P. T. Tono, Tokyo Uni
versity consultant for construc
tion of the Japanese Garden ac
companied Mr. Robinson to
Lonerock and found the stones
to be used in Boon Canyon. The
rocks had to be two feet across
and one foot in depth. Approx-

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Christ-
ensen toured Pete's Museum in
Condon last week. While at
Pete's the Christiensen's visited
with a couple from New York

home state.
There was a family gathering
this weekend at the Rogers

Mrs. Hattie Lee was pleas
antly surprised this week when
the Perry Powell family, Mrs.
Powell is Mrs. Lee's granddau
ghter, from California and a
grandson from Portland were
overnight guests at her home.
Mrs.. Ellen Rogers spent sev
eral days, with her granddaugh
ter, Doris Carter, and children
who are staying at the Lester
Harrisons ranch until Mr. Car
ter Is released from the service.
