The second half of the Little
League season (June 7-July 1)
has been an exciting race be
tween tin-' four teams, with the
IIcDDner Lodgers emerging in
first place, as of June 21.
The Dodgers are coached by
Harley Sager, and Chris Lov
grcn while the Heppner Braves
are directed by Tom Wilson as
sisted by Glen Ward. Joe Yo
com leads the Heppner Giants
and the lone Indians look to
Lindsay Kincaid.
A recap of some of the sec
ond half scores reveals the ac

Little League Diamond:
JuneS, Dodgers over the Braves
9 8; June 15 Braves downed the
Dodgers 15-12 In eight innings;
June 17, Indians 12-Braves 9;
In seven innings on June 16,
Giants edged by the Dodgers
15-13.
Team rankings changed in the
next to the last week of play
as the Dodgers downed the In
dians 9-4 on June 21 and then
the Braves 16-3 on June 24. The
Giants edged by the Braves 5
4 on June 22 then lost to the
Indians 16 to 3 on June 23.
On June 24, the powerful
Dodgers outslugged the Braves
16-3 to cinch their lead. Kerry
Harsin pitched all six innings
for the Dodgers and had a near
shut-out, strinking out six of
the first nine batters. None of
the Braves were able to reach
first base until the fourth inn
ing when the Braves broke
through with 3 runs for their
only score.
Kerry dispelled the myth of
a pitcher being a rotten batter
as he hit a home run with run
