Mr. and Mrs. Herb Luper and
family spent the Memorial Day
weekend at Ontario where they
were guests or Mr. and Mrs.
James Sutherland and family.
They brought Mrs. Emma Beam
of Nampa. Idaho home with
them for a visit and met Mrs.
Hattle Luper of Portland at Ar
lington and brought her home
for a visit with them and with
Mr. and Mrs. Willis Wright.
Mr. and Mrs. Larry O'Neall
and son Chad spent Saturday in
The Dalles on business. Also in
The Dalles Saturday were Mrs.
Robert Kelso and Mrs. Howard
Burch and daughters.

of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Wright

of Silverton, Mrs. Zena Earl and

Jerry Sargent of Chiloquin, and
Dale Sargent of Kinzua.

and family of Idaho Falls, Ida
ho, visited during the weekend
with Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Hlnes
and in Fossil with Mr. and Mrs.
Fuzzy Harrison.
Mr. and Mrs. Layton Tripp

were weekend house guests of
Mr. and Mrs. Don Corey and fam
ily. Mrs. Stanley Benson and Mrs.
Vi Fenton of Fossil spent sev
eral days last week visiting rel
ative of Mrs. Benson at Weiser,
Idaho.
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Tripp of
Redmond announce the arrival
of a daughter on May 11, and
she has been named Melita Sue.
She weighed Vk lb., and grand
parents are Mr. and Mrs. Zol
rn Tripp of Redmond.
Lesllio Malloroy and son Tim
went to St. Maries, Idaho dur
ing the Weekend to visit rela
tives and to bring Mrs. Mallo
roy home. She has spent sever
al weeks there with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Reichelt
Mr. and Mrs. W. C Freeman
and family were the honored
guests last Monday night at
Community Farewell dinner at
Jefmore Hall. The potluck din
ner was attended by a capacity
crowd and the Freemans were
presented a money tree from their
many friends. The Freemans
have had the service station In
Kinzua for many years and
have leased It to Gerald Samp
lea of Pendleton who will move
his family here the middle of
June. The Freeman family have
no definite plans as of now but
will keep in touch with the
community. They are wished
the best of luck in whatever
they decide to do.

Distict Council Meeting at
Bend as delegates from the Lo
cal Union No. 2916 recently
were Lige Long, Bud Fulton, Don
Walters, Delbert Barzee, and Mr.
and Mrs. Earl Norris.
Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hollomon
and daughtes of Hermiston
came May 22 to visit the Den
zil White's and they, along with
Mr. and Mrs. Mike Todd and
Gary, and Miss Susan White,
helped their parents celebrate
their 30th wedding anniversary
which was May 21.
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Dunlap and
family and Mrs. Dorothy Dun
lap, all of Grass Valley spent
a recent weekend visiting with
Mr. and Mrs. Kendrick Dunlap.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Hardwick
went to Bend recently where
they visited with Mr. and Mrs.
John Hardwick, Mr. and Mrs.
Forrest Overton, and Mr. and
Mrs. Luke Scarlett.

Mrs. Mike Todd and son Gary
went to iiermuton last Monday
where Terry had medical care
and they visited with the Bruce
Hollomons.
Mrs. Rose Merry Nelson was
the hostess last Tuesday night
to a pinochle card party at the
Camp 5 hall. High and pinochle
went to Bifky Wright, low to
Bonnie Campbell, and the sec
ond pinochle to Carol Thomas.

Mr. and Mrs. Denzil White
went to The Dulles last Satur
day on business and to do some
shopping.

to The Dalles Saturday and al
so visited at Rufus with the
Kenneth Todds.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Norris
of Spanaway spent last week
end here visiting with Mr. and
Mrs. Earl Norris and with Mr.
and Mrs. Don Culver at Service
Creek. Ken had to return home
to Spanaway on Monday but
left Judy here to go camping
with her parents and son Kenny
stayed with his grandparents,
the Norris.

whose home had a tree jammed
through their wall just south of
the Forest Service warehouse
have moved to Pasco. Their
children came down Wednesday
after the flood and packed their
household goods that they could
salvage and moved them out.
They said they had been
through two floods and their
kids said "this is the last one."
They pumped out the basement
to salvage tools and possibly
some canned goods. They stayed
the night after the flood with
their sister-in-law, Mrs. Blanche
Wise.

day, Memorial afternoon. At
