Last Friday the Heppner JV's
outdistanced the Sherman JVI
45-33 and routed Stanfield on
Saturday bv a score of 72-29.
After having a slow siarung
first quarter, the Baby Mustangs
charged to a 23 14 halftlme lead
over Sherman. The second half
was also dominated by Hepp
ner. Allen McCabe led the scoring
with 15. Others scoring were B.

Saturday the Baby Mustangs
trailed Stanfield 1614 at the end
of first quarter. But a great de
fensive effort by John Boyer
forced many Stanfield turnov-
ers and Heppner routed tne lit
tle Tigers 72-29.
JV Coach Ed Hlemstra said,

Sammy Thurman is the most
famous Indian beauty in rodeo.
She has qualified every year to

Round-Up Pavilion In Pendleton.

improvement sessions are

ing techniques.

horse, equipment, the turns, the
course, the conditions, training

Cardinals Split Weekend Matches

Missionary Counsel program
Sunday, Feb. 28, 11 a.m., at the
Hcnoner church. Women s Mis
sionary Counsel is a National
organization of women of the
Assemblies of God whose pur
pose is to help missionaries
around the world.
"Share the Word", Is theme
of the program which will in
clude music and a skit. Pastor
Burwell will conclude with an
appropriate Bible message.
The local group led by Mrs.
Loa Taylor meets twice month
ly to sew and pray for foreign
and home missionaries. Mrs.
Morris Devin of Indonesia is
their "adopted" missionary, to
whom they regularly send pack
ages for Christmas, birthdays
and other needs.
In 1970 the group made and
gave to the Indian work at Cay

stuffed toys, besides other items
including canned foods, toys,
and boxes of used clothing.

ed a surprise party for son
Doug's 16th birthday. Present

ert Hughes, Charlie Sumner,
Tom Roberts, Kyle Robinson,
Andy and Doug Johnson, Doug
Gunderson, Jim Wllhelm, John
Boyer and Tom Gonty.
Other quests were Mrs. Alice
McCabe and a friend of the Gon
rv's. Al Lotts. The boys were
served hamburgers with choices
of relishes and pop. A cake
made and decorated Dy Mrs.
Pete Hams with a basketball
theme was the centerpiece. Doug
served his friends cake and ice
cream.
After dinner, all enjoyed the
