the meeting of the club Tuesday
night of last week at the home
of Mrs. Ralph Skoubo. mis. koo
Fluff was co-hostess. Mrs. Rupe
Kennedy will be chairman of the
affair which is a benefit for the
club's scholarship fund. Mrs.
Ronald Black Is in charge of
publicity; Mrs. Stan Hemue is
chairman of the food committee
and Mrs. Roy Partlow will do
the decorations.
Mrs. William Bates has been
appointed conservation chair
man for the 7th District of the
Oregon Federation of Women's
Clubs.
The next meeting of the club
will be at the home of Mrs. Jer
ry Meyer Nov. 10 with Mrs. Tom
Hilling as co-hostess.
The Ladies Aid Society of
Boardman Community Church
met Wednesday afternoon of
last week at the home of Mrs.
Hazel Miller. Leitzlce Dall'Ovo
of Bomegliara, Italy was a guest.
Mrs. Leo Root was In charge
of the devotional hour and read
a letter by Millie Stram, taken
from "Meditation Moments", a
Village Missions publication.
Mrs. Roy Ball read "The Psalm
of the Addict", and Mrs. Miller
read a letter from Margery Ben
edict, missionary In Africa.
Plans were made to sell pie
and coffee at the coming elec
tion Nov. 3 at the Greenfield
Grange hall.
Carol Moen, local postmaster,
announced the coming sale of
a new stamp at the post office,
a 6-cent Fort Snelling commem
orative stamp which will be
first placed on sale at Fort
Snelling, Minn. Oct. 17. Its col
ors will be yellow, red, blue,
black and green. It goes on sale
here Oct 19.
Freddie Ziemer, 13 year old
Riverside Junior High School
student, is in St Anthony Hos
pltal in Pendleton with a bro
ken leg, suffered In an accident
during football practice at
school. He will be hospitalized
several weeks. He is the son of
Mrs. Betty Ziemer of Boardman.
