inflation on industry and labor. They have contributed their
part to it through price Jncrea-ses and demands tor wage

Only as the people restrain their desire for government

Horvcst Wins Out
In this land of cowboy, open
spaw. and rolling wheat fields,
the wheat seem to win out, at
leait with Marianne Pettyjohn
it won out. Marianne h-id been
named Ail -Around Cowgirl at
the Oregon High School Rodeo
held In Hermlston on June 6 7
She had qualified for Nation
al competition In pole bending,
barrel racing, and cow cutting,
and was to compete July 27
through Aug. 2 at Fargo, N. D.
along with 18 other Oregon
competitors.
Unfortunately her family was
in the middle of harvest and
Marianne is the family truck
driver. It was aLso feared that
the long trip might be harmful
to the horses.
Marianne will be a senior at
lone High School which gives
her another year of competition
with the Oregon High School Ro
deo, and another chance at the
National Finals, which will be
held in Idaho. This was Ore-1
gon's first year in the High
School Rodeo, marking it as the
21th state to Join.
