who died nf a heart altack were
held July 23 with the Rev. Faul

Ileider, James Miller, Walt Rup
nert. Albert Fetsch and Edward
Lehman. Interment was In the
Willamette National Cemetery.
Roy w as born May 20. 1920 In
Kalispcl. Mont. He equated
from Flathead Hich School In
Kalispel in 1941. He enlisted In
the Air Force Dec 30. 1941 and
became a Corporal. Ho trans
ferred to Officers Traininc
School and praduated a second
Lieutenant at EllinRton Field,
Texas. He received his discharge
June, 1915.
Roy and VyLettc were mar
ried In Independence, Kan., on
Nov. 27. 1913 while Roy was a
cadet. He leaves his wife; one
son, Guy Putman; mother, Mrs
Nellie Putman and sister. Paul
ine Johnston, both of Columbia
Falls, Mont., and a brother,
Robert Tutman of Kalispel,
Mont.
After the war the Put mans
went to Portland where Roy
continued his aviation career by
establishing Putman Flying
Inc. He served the farmers in
Oregon around Heppner
as in the Willamette
He transferred his oper-

They moved into their new
home at Cornelius about two

returned to work. The last of
her scabs came off last week.
Her back muscles arc still very
sore.
They were Injured In an ac
cident June 20 Just out of Can-by.

At Heards
Mrs. Walter Young of Lebanon
and her crandson, Mike Young
of Portland visited several days
here with Mrs. Young's brother-in-law
and fcister, Mr. and hfrs.
Charles Heard.
They went to Joseph Saturday
for the Shrine breakfast and
Chief Joseph Parade and visited
many friends. The Heards for
merly lived in Joseph. Enroute
home they went up the Lostlne
to see Charlie's sister and fam
ily, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rogers
and two sons. They stopped
briefly in Milton-Freewater to
see his mother, Mrs. Tom Young.
On Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Gene
Frank came from Milton-Fee-
water to visit The Youngs left
for home Monday morning.
