the barley harvest looks very
good, far superior to last year.
They are harvesting 300 acres
of lone barley. The wind has
done some damage, breaking
off heads in many instances.
Their wheat harvest Is expected
to begin in about ten days.
They will harvest 240 acres
of Hudson Barley.

three years died there last week
at the age of 59. '
Born Dec. 27, 1910 in Oregon
City, Mr. McLaughlin moved
with his parents to Lonerock.
He spent his early life in the
Condon-Heppner area before
moving to Portland when he
went to work for the Union Pa
cific RR. Employed as a fire
man, he retired in July, 1968,
after 23 "4 years of service. He
has been employed at Columbia
Park Hospital and Training
Center since June, 1969.
Mr. McLaughlin was married
April 15, 1967 at Vancouver, Wn1
He is survived by his wife, Al
ma F.; a stepson, Asher Wood
