Class Reunion
The lone High School classes
of 1939 l'JH were represented at
a reunion, June 13, 1970 at the
Anchorage Itestaurant In Port
land. An enjoyable evening of
reminiscing and v lulling with
former classmate and faculty
waa had by all. Mrs. uernice
Fletcher, former Ionian, was In
charge of the alt down dinner
for uty. Notes from several not

Meridy Webb Married
in Walla Walla
Ceremony
St. Paul's Episcopal Church In
Walla Walla was the setting for
the wedding of Miss Merldith
Reita Webb and Lt. William
Taylor Parker on June 6. The
bride is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Paul Webb, Jr. of Walla
Walla, former Heppner residents,
and the bridegroom is the son
of Mrs. Sam T. Parker of Spo
kane and the late Mr. Parker.
Rev. Roger Williams officiated
at the double ring ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a gown of
white cotton ottoman threaded
with satin Venise trim on the
neckline, empire waist and cuffs.
She wore a camelot headpiece
with floor length mantilla with
Venise trim. She carried a bou
ouet of white and pink roses.
Miss Rebecca Jane Webb served
as her sister's maid of honor,
wearing a floor length gown of
Dink cotton ottoman with ven
ise trim and matching bow and
carried a nosegay of pink car
nations and baby breath. The
bridesmaids, wearing identical
Dink eowns were Mrs. Roger Al-
drich of Tacoma, Miss Sharon
Rudd, Spokane, Miss Kay Fra-
zier and Miss Ann larwaier oi
Walla Walla.
Serving as best man was Rob
ert Brazeal of Spartanburg, S. C.
Ushers were Dan Dunn, Portland,
Bob Pearson, Spokane, Tom Fos
ter, Seattle, and Terry Simon,
San Jose, Calif. Master Greg
Dean, nephew of the bridegroom
was ring bearer.
Reception Follows
A reception followed at the
Walla Walla Country Club.
The bride attended Heppner
Grade School, St. Paul's, and
graduated from Walla Walla
Hieh School and graduated in
elementary education from
Washington State University in
June, 1970. The bridegroom
graduated from Shadle Park
Hieh School in Spokane, and
since graduation from Washing
ton State University in June,
1969, has been with the U. S.
Air Force attending graduate
school at San Jose State College
studying meteorology. They will
be making their home in Spo
kane where he is now stationed.

The Dave Williams'
The First Christian Church of
Heppner and the Lexington
Church of Christ enjoyed a com
bined potluck dinner Sunday,
June 14 honoring Dave and Mel
ody Williams. They are serving
the two churches tnis summer
many different capacities.
They will be helping with the
youth groups and Dave will be
preaching while Pastor Don
Johnson is on vacation.
Following the potluck dinner
the afternoon was spent with
group singing led and accompa-
ied by Dave and Melody, lhe
talented couple also sang sev
eral songs for the group. There
were around 70 present to en
joy the afternoon.

to Charlottesville, Va. Here he
visited hia brother, Aston K. Mc
Murdo who live there with
niece. Aston wa 97 year old
on June IS.
Dr. McMurdo also attended a
reunion at the University of Vir
ginia there at Charlottesville.
There were about 500 alumni
but no other one from his das
of 1909.
He had lovely spring weather.
The air waa perfumed with the
honeysuckle that borders every
highway and byway.
Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Nash
were In Hood River this week
end to visit Mr. mid Mrs. Elmer
Springer. Mr. Nash's sister, and
his brother and family, Mr. and
Mrs. Don Nash. They also visit

Heppner residents.
The 29 member of the class

are planning a big get together
on June ZJ. At the present time
IS of the class have Indicated
they will attend and more are
expected.

Vacation Program Given Sunday
The sixty students enrolled In
the Methodist Vacation Church
school presented a program Sun
day during morning worship.
The Kindergarten group taught
by Mrs. Daniel James assisted
by Debbie McLeod and the Pri
mary taught by Mrs. Bruce Grif
fith who also acted as director,
gave memory Vi-ftiul And tongs.
Two older groups taught by Mrs.
Ed Cutting and the Rev. Ed Cut
ting presented dramatic skits.

service enjoyed the inspiration

by Pastor Everhnrt and refresh
ments were served following the
service In the Fellowship Hall.

were presented to all those In
attendance.
Special musical numbers were
presented by local talent and en
joyed by all. The July Neighbor
Night has been tentatively set
for July 11 at 8:00. A special
Invitation to these monthly serv
ices is extended to the entire
community regardless of church
affiliation.

here this week. He comes up to
Heppner about every month to
visit his sister, Clara E. Kincaid
who is In the hospital. Mr. Ma
son Is a veteran of World War
I and spoke briefly at the Cham
ber of Commerce luncheon.

The Harold Beggs family Is
moving this week to Pullman to
make their home. Mr. Beggs who
has been principal of lone
Schools for acveral years will
enroll Monday at WSU. He plans
to attend summer school,
through the 1970-71 school year
and summer 1971 to achieve his
doctorate in School Administra
tion. The girls are working in
Pullman already. Joy Is working

mer. Charity is working as sec
retary in the Pullman High
School office this summer.
