Charles O'Connor, low; and Mrs.
Everett Keithley, pinochle. Mrs.
Kny Ferguson won the door
prize. The drawing for the at

Mrs. Lancaster Honored
A baby shower was held in

(Evelyn Marick) of Cecil at the

with the gifts were Mrs. A. H.
Marick, and Mrs. Ed Marick of
Hermiston. Hostesses for the oc
casion were Mrs. Wayne Hams,
Mrs. Larry Prock, and Mrs. Lar
ry Sullivan. Besides Mrs. Ed
Marick, other out of town guests
were Mrs. Alda Losten, grand
mother and Mrs. Bill Jaeger,
aunt of Mrs. Lancaster, from
Condon. . ,
Mrs. A. H. Marick entertained
at her home with dinner for the
members of her family and the
out of town relatives, previous
to the shower.
Mrs. Clell Rea entertained
with a pinochle party at her
home on Wednesday afternoon.
Mrs. Lewis Halvorsen won high;
Mrs. Marvin Padberg, low; Mrs.
Adon Hamlett, 300 pinochle; and
Mrs. Willard French, door prize.
Other guests were Mrs. Marion
and Lee Palmer, Mrs. Clarence
Mcintosh, Mrs. Mike Matthews,
Mrs. Berl Akers, Mrs. Cleo Drake,
and Mrs. Gerald Rea.
Mr. and Mrs. Chuck St. Mary
of Yakima, Wn., visited last
week at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Leo Crabtree. They are good
friends of Sharon and Bill Gel
inas, and have returned to Yak
ima after being discharged from
the army. They knew tne uei
inas while in Germany.
Skiing
Kenneth Smouse met Cherilyn
Smouse at Hood River and they
spent Saturday and Sunday at
Mt. Hood skiing.
I.lovd Howton underwent mi
nor surgery at the Pasco Hospi
tal last Monday. He is out of
the hospital and recuperating at
home in Hermiston.
It's a Boy
Mr. and Mrs. John Howton are
the parents of a son born April
1, at La Grande. The young man
weighed 6 lb., 3 oz., and has
been named Brian Keith. Grand
parents are Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
Howton, and Mr. and Mrs.
Claude Hand of La Grande,
A pink and blue shower was
held in honor of Mrs. Jerry Ce
cil (Betty Greenup) at the Ma
sonic Hall April 5. Assisting with
the gifts were Nancy Ashurst
and Anita Crawford.
A bouquet of yellow daffodils,
splrea and grape hyacinths, and
yellow candles flanked a large
white sheet cake decorated with
pink and blue booties and flow
ers. Presiding at the punch bowl
was Mrs. Larry Sullivan, and
at the coffee service was Mrs.
Lloyd Moycr. Mrs. Pete Hams cut
and served the cake. Guests
from Heppner besides Mrs. Moy
er, was Mrs. Jim Hams, Miss
Norine Cecil and Miss Chris
Bradley. Miss Nancy Ashurst
was hostess for the shower.

At last Tuesday's student body
meeting two pair of HHS stu
dents were honored as Boy and
Girl of the Month, unosen ior
sportsmanship, February's trait,
were tumors Steve KemD and
Terry Pettyjohn. For dependabil
ity, the March trait, June Ayres
and Charlie Pointer. Junior and
sophomore, respectively, were
named.
Two active students are sel
ected every month as boy and
girl of the month for a specific
trait. Two representatives are
selected from each class and the
student council elects the win
ing pair.
