Grange Members Enjoy
Program at Booster Night

LEXINGTON There were 53
members and friends present for
the Booster Night meeting at the
Lexington Grange on Saturday
evening. A dinner, at 6:30 P.M.
was followed by the program,
opening with the drill of the
Greenfield Grange memb ers
from Boardman. Mrs. Karen
(Don) Larson of Tigard, who is
the State Youth chairman from
District No. 1 gave a most in
teresting and instructive talk on
the youth of the Grange, the
age limits, activities etc. Mrs.
Larson told of the talent contest
held at the state Grange session,
the choosing of the outstanding
lady or man youth Granger of
the State of Oregon, and the
qualifications of the outstand
ing youth couple, of the state,
all of whom go to the National
Grange to take part in the com
petition there. The youth camp
was described, and the activities
there.
Mrs. Kenneth Smouse, accom
panied by Mrs. Carl Marquardt
played a medley of violin music,
after which Master Dale Baker,
Master of the Junior Grange of
Boardman, was introduced.
The business meeting conven
ed shortly after the program at
which time, Mrs. Larson, who
was also the 1966 outstanding
lady youth granger and husband,
were introduced and welcomed
as was the state gatekeeper Berl
Akers of Willows Grange.
Guests were present from Blue
Mountain Grange in Union coun
ty, Prospect Point Grange in
Washington, and others from
Willows and Greenfield.
Election Held
The election of officers was
the main business of the even
ing with the following taking

Delpha Jones, lecturer; Jean
Nelson, secretary; Chas. C. Jones,

this time, and it is hoped all
candidates can be initiated at
the next meeting on December
13. Joint Installation for the
granges of Morrow county will
be held at the Lexington Grange
hall with Robert Coble and his
installing team from Baker
county present to do the install-
lne. A Dotluck dinner will be
served at noon with the instal
lation immediately following.
Grange for Lexington 726 will
be held later in the evening
which will be the Christmas
meeting. Coffee and refresh
ments were served later in the
dining room.
