propose to hold a hearing on a
pian to implement further meas
ures authorized under Part IV of
the Foreign Assistance Act of
1968 which restricts the auan
tity of timber which mav be
sold for export from the United
States from Federal lands loca
ted west of the 100th meridian.
Section 2 (c) of Part IV of the
Foreign Assistance Act of 1968
states that the Secretaries of the
Departments administering Fed
eral lands reierred to in the Act
may issue rules and regulations
to carry out tne purpose of the
Act in regard to timber export
control, Including the prevent
ion oi substitution of timber re
stricted from export under the
Act for exported non-Federal
timber.
