Monahan-Hoffman Wedding Solemnized In August Ceremony Miss Teresa Margaret Mona han and Ronald Boone Hoff man exchanged marriage vows at the altar of St. Patrick' Cath olic church in Heppner on Sat urday, August 16. The nuptial mass was performed at 7:00 p.m. by the Rev. Raymond Beard. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Mona han of Heppner, and the groom is the son of John J. Hoffman and the late Janice May Hoff man of Pendleton. Mr. Monahan escorted his daughter to the altar. Her bridal gown was a Paris original of white organza, with diagonal decorative seed pearl trim from the left shoulder to the hem of the gown. Her veil of Illusion was held by a crown of seed pearls, and she carried a cas cade bridal bouquet of white roses, centered with orchids. Matron of honor was Mrs. Jo Ann Paulson, cousin of the bride, wearing a floor-length gown of pale green dotted Swiss fashioned in A-llne style. Bridesmaids were Miss Joy Miller of Pendleton and Miss Debbie Young of Heppner. Their identically styled gowns were fashioned of contrasting pale yellow dotted Swiss. The atten dants carried white wicker um brella baskets with yellow bows and streamers, holding arrangements of daisies and ivy. At the altar were decorations of yellow and white gladioli. Organ selections were provided bv Miss Margaret Glavey. who also accompanied Bill Kenny when he sang "Ave Maria." Jack Hoffman attended his bjother as best man. Ushers were Bill Monahan, brother of the bride, and John Wahl of Pendleton. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Monahan selected a pink chiffon dress with white acces sories. Her corsage was of white gardenias. The newlyweds greeted their guests at a reception in the par ish hall A four-tiered wedding cake, decorated with daisies, centered the reception table. Yellow and white gladiolas and daisies were used on the tea table. HARRIS Couple is Honored , On ,60th ,Ann iye rsa ry All immediate family mem bers, except one grandson, were here Sunday, August 31, to ex tend (greetings to Mr, and Mrs. A. T. Harris in celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary. Unable to attend was Renne Harris of Berkeley,- Calif., and his family. The special occasion was ar ranged by a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hill of Coos Bay, and a son and daughter-in-law, Mr, and Mrs. Darrel Harris of Heppner. Over 75 relatives and friends came to the Harris home to ex tend good wishes and congrat ulations. Five or tne couples seven great-grandchildren were among those present. The honored couple nas uvea 54 of their 60 married years in the Heppner area. Mrs. Harris was born and raised here, ana was the bride of Mr. Harris in a ceremony in Payette, Ida. Their youngest son, Renn, was killed in an accident 22 years ago. Engaged Pair Plans November Wedding The engagement and coming marriage of Miss Mary Louise Pointer of Portland and Clayton Hill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hill of Coos Bay, was recently announced by her brother, Jerry L. Pointer of Beaverton. Miss Pointer is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lewis S. Pointer of Portland. A November wedding is plan ned in Portland. Phegley Home Scene Of Wiser-McBride Wedding August 1 An evening ceremony at the Jim Phegley home in Heppner united n marriage, Miss Ramona Wiser, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phegley, and Danny Lee Mc Bride, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nate McBride. The double ring ceremony was performed at 9:00 p.m. on Friday. August 1. by the Rev. Don John son in the presence of families and close friends. Given in marriage by Mr. Phegley, the bride chose to wear a white satin dress fashioned with lace bell sleeves. A floral pearl-trimmed headpiece held in place her finger tip veil. She carried a white Bible, topped with white carnations and satin streamers. Miss Bonnie Kessell was the bride's honor attendant. She wore a blue and white ensemble, and carried a single white carnation. Best man was Gary Romberg. Piano selections were Dlaved by Miss Sandy Matheny Mrs. Phegley greeted the wedding guests in a beige print dress. Mrs. McBride, mother of the groom, selected a blue knit dress.
