Dean Connor August 20-23. They
picked up their daughter, Terry
Lee, who had been staying at
the Connor's home. While In
Heppner, they visited Mr. and
Mrs. Lincoln Nash, Mrs. Parson's
parents.
Mr. and Mrs. Creston Robinson
were visited August 22-J5 by
their son and daughter-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Dean Robinson and
small daughter, La Grande. Sat
urday guests were Mr. and Mrs.
Joe Kelly of Hermlston. Mr. and
Mrs. Leon Maglll, Pendleton,
were visitors to the Robinson
home Friday through Sunday,

ies the past few weeks, to the
delight of her friends and family.
Earlier this month she com
peted at Kennewick, Wn., in the
Northwest Ski Association meet,
winning trophies for first place
in the girl's lump and third
place in gin s tricks. At me re
cent meet of the Sea Fair at
Green Lake, Seattle, she won
first place trophy in girl's tricks
and second place for girl s lump
Just prior, she won second place
in the girl'i jump and third
place in girl's tricks at a meet
on Lake Stevens, also at Seat
tie.
Jackie's brother. Jim. has al
so begun competition in the
men's division. At Green Lake
he made a lump of over 100
feet. At the NW Ski Association
meet in Kennewick he had three
lumps over 100 feet. Competit
ion was rather rough, as sever
al Canadian champs were also
competing at the various meets.
Tom Heimbigner, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Ray Heimbigner, lone,
won the first place men's jump,
jumping 120 feet at the NW Ski
Assoc. meet at Kennewick recently.

Mr. and Mrs. Jeri Ripka and

week-end with her parents, Mr.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Peterson and
family spent the week-end at

family spent several days vaca
tioning at Lehman Springs.
Gordon white was in Port
land to visit Maravene White
and to return her home from
the hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Steve Loy and
family were visitors at the home

Ball accompanied her aunt and
uncle to Wallowa where they
enjoyed riding horses into the
higher lake for some good fish

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Nichols and
family were week-end guests of
Mr. and Mrs. George Irvln of
Hood River.
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Ball and
family enjoyed a week-end of
leisure and fishing at Granite.
Accompanying his sister and
family was Ricky Pettyjohn of
Lexington.
The annual Willows Grange
Picnic held at the lone City Park
was well attended by all. There
were several guests.
Art Stefanl, Jr.. underwent
major surgery at the Walla
Walla hospital recently.

cil of PTA's will host an all day
school of information September
4 for the seven PTA councils
covering Eastern Oregon. PTA
people from Union, Wallowa,
Midland, Wasco and Hood River
councils, as well as Umatilla-

at the Vert Club Room, Pendle
ton, which will begin with 9:00
a.m. registration.
Mrs. A. L. Hendricks, field
representative of the National
PTA, will be assisted by Ore
gon PTA leaders. The forenoon
will be devoted to the basics of
PTA and leadership training.

LEXINGTON Mr. and Mrs.
William J. Van Winkle have had
as guests last week their daugh
ter, Linda, and her house guest,
Miss Sue Wortman. They visited
from Tuesday, August 19,
through Saturday. Another dau
ghter, Leora, arrived Saturday to
visit for one week. The three
girls are all of San Francisco.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Van Winkle,
Pendleton, spent the week-end
visiting also.
