its annual meeting here Sunday.
June 22, at Dodge City Inn with
29 present, and parents and
friends as guests. Honored guests
were Fr. John L. Van woivear, u
of P athletic director, Fr. Ray.
mond Beard of Heppner and Mr.
and Mrs. Kevin Collins of Port
land. Collins is dean of stu
dents at the university.
Collins spoke to the group on
"Two Years Before the Mast."
He is a native of Portland, a
eraduate of U of P in 1951. and
of Columbia Prep, and had 10
years teaching and counseling
at Jefferson High in Portland,
was director of Project Upward
Bound at the University of Ore
gon, 1965-66, and consultant for
OEO and Dept. of HEW in
Washington, D. C.
Fr. Van Woivear spoke on
the activities at the university
in the past year and plans for
next year.
Officers elected were Don Mc
Flligott of lone, president; Bill
Kilkenny of Pendleton, vice
president; Mrs. William Decks
of Pendleton, secretary-treasurer.
Mrs. Dan Daltoso of Board
man was appointed on the nom
inating committee for next year.

Grange met here Saturday, June
21, at Greenfield Grange hall.
Reports of the state grange ses

Mrs. Hazel Miller showed
slide pictures of Italy which her

Greenfield Grange met June
21, at the hall at 8 p.m.
Bob Coble, state deputy was a
guest, and spoke briefly to the
group. He also gave a report
on state grange.
Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Graham
were voted in as new members.
The grange will have a pic
nic July 13 at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. W. G. Seehafer. There
will be no other meeting during
the month, with the next one
to be August 16.
The annual Sandflower Sister
party of the Boardman Garden
club was held last week at the
home of Mrs. Hazel Miller. Pres
ent from out of town was Mrs.
Charles Anderegg of Pendleton.
