Wedding on March 22
Miss Terryl Ann Greenup and
Mitchell Curtis Ashbeck ex
changed marriace vows Satur
day morninc, March 22, at a
Nuptial Mass in St. Patrick's
Catholic church In Hcppner. The
double ring ceremony was per
formed by the Rev. Raymond
Beard. Altar boys were John Kil
kenny, cousin of the bride, and
Jeff Marshall, both of Heppner.
Decorating the altar were large
white gladiolus and green ros
es. The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Don Greenup of
Heppner, and the groom's par
ents are Mr. and Mrs. Leo Ash
beck of Echo.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride was attired In
a white satin full length gown,
with shoulder attached train,
trimmed with reembroidered
lace the length of the dress and
train. Her shoulder length Illus
ion veil was held In place with
a crown made of lace and em
broidered seed pearls. She car
ried a white Bible, a gift of her
aunt, Mrs. Ilene Wyman, cov
ered with miniature gladiolus
and green roses.
Lighting the candles before
the ceremony were Bill and
Gregory Greenup, brothers of
the bride. Miss Lottie Lynn
Laughlin, cousin of the bride,
served as flower girl.
Matron of honor was Mrs.
Robert J. Laughlin of Heppner.
Miss Sue Ellen Greenup, sister
of the bride, and Miss Sheridan
Wyman, cousin of the bride, at
tended as bridesmaids. The bri
dal attendants wore identical
gowns of light green silk peau
de soi, fashioned with empire
waistlines and attached train.
They wore matching pillbox
hats with veils and carried a
single long stemmed yellow
rose.
Frank Osmin of Heppner
served as best man and Shane
Laughlin, cousin of the bride,
was ring bearer. Robert J.
Laughlin, cousin of the bride,
and Douglas Anderson, Beaver
ton, served as groomsmen.
Ushering the guests were the
triplet brothers of the groom,
Alvin, Calvin and Melvin Ash
beck of Echo.
For the ceremony Mrs. Green
up chose a champagne lace
choath with nink accessories,
and Mrs. Ashbeck a beige and
light green knit sheath, with
beige accessories. Their corsag
es were of gladiolus and yel
low rosebuds.
William Kenny was soloist for
the Mass and Miss Marguerite
Glavey was organist.
A wedding reception followed
in the parish hall, where the
green and white color theme
was carried out. A 4-tiered wed
ding cake, decorated with green
roses and topped with a gold
Chi Rho, was cut by Mrs. Clar
ence Greenup, Portland, aunt of
the bride, and Misses Verina
French and Debbie Bennett.
Pouring were Mrs. Harold Kirk
man, aunt of the groom, Island
City, and Mrs. Wyman, Hepp
ner. The bride's sister, Miss Mary
Anne Greenup, attended the
guest book, assisted by Miss
Tammy Brannon.
After a brief trip to Reno the
young couple will be at home
on Buttercreek where the groom
is engaged in farming.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Greenup
entertained relatives and friends
with a buffet dinner at their
ranch home on Hinton Creek
following the wedding recep
tion. Out of town guests were Mr.
and Mrs. Clarence Greenup,
Mitchell; Mark, Matt, Rita Ma
rie, and Mrs. Marie Johnson, Mr.
and Mrs. Mike Monahan and
daughter, Portland. Also Mr.
and Mrs. Bill Kane, Mrs. Eddie
Liesegang, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Ed
Liesegang, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Burl
Wattenberger, Mr. and Mrs.
Carl Rhea and Lori, Mr. and
Mrs. George Luciani, Patty,
Sheila, John Luciani, Mr. and
Mrs. Tom Ashbeck, Jim and
Jerry Ashbeck, Mr. and Mrs.
Weldon Witherrite, Richard

The lesson will emphasize the

and will bring out ways to In

family meals. Demonstrations
will be given on Interesting
ways to prepare stew, and how
to cook organ meats such as
tongue, liver, heart, and kidney.
The nutritive value of the or
gan and less expensive meat
cuts will hp discussed. Free Ore
gon State University and United
states Department of Agricul
ture bulletins will be distribut
ed. Recipes In these publications
may also be used for game
meats such as venison and elk,
states the home agent.
Any homemaker who Is Inter
ested In saving the meat dol
lar Is Invited to attend a unit
meeting In her area in April.
