Mr. and Mrs. Doyal Hubbell
and family spent a week-end at
Milton-Freewater where they
visited with relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Oyler and
son, Don, moved March 15 to
Bend where they will make
their home. They were assisted
by Mr. and Mrs. Don Slinkard
and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rice.
The Kinzua Kindergarten
started operation on Monday,
March 24, at the Kinzua Grade
school. It operates five days a
week, from 8 to 11 a.m. In
charge will be Mrs. Gladys
Jewell. For further information
regarding ages and other facts
please contact Mrs. Jewell or
Ron Eversole.
Mrs. Larry O'Neall and Mrs.
Ron Eversole and children left
March 15 to spend the week
visiting relatives of Mrs. Ever
sole at Burley, Idaho.

went to Portland on March 9
where Norri was a delegate
from the Local Union No. 2ai6
to the 32nd Annual Western
Council of Lumber and Sawmill
Workers. On March 13 the Nor
rls' went to Spanawav, Wash.,
to visit with SSgt. and Mrs. Ken
neth Norrls until Saturday when
they returned to Oregon City to
visit Mrs. Norrls' sister. Mrs.
Lois Carpenter at Oregon City,
returning home on Sunday,
March 16.
Miss Carol Nlstad, who is at
tending Lewis and Clark Col
lege in Portland, is spending
the spring vacation with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Nis-
tad.
Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Perry re
turned home during the week
end. Mr. Perry has been receiv
ing medical care in Portland
and Mrs. Perry had been visit
ing their daughter and family.

children, Kevin and Paula, have
returned to their home at
Thome Bay, Alaska, after hav

Plans Underway
For State Grange
Sewing Contests

ity Committee of the Lexington
Grange met at the home of Mrs.
A. F. Maleske last Thursday af
ternoon for its regular meeting.
It was decided to give money
to the State Hospital for one
month's movies for the retarded
patients, and two sewing days
were scheduled the first one at
the home of Mrs. Florence Mc
Millan, when articles will be
sewn for the hospital, and also
at the next regular meeting,
scheduled for the home of Mrs.
O. W. Cutsforth, Sr.
Articles for State CranRe dress
contests were discussed, and it
was announced that there will
be cotton dresses from Lexing
ton Grange entered. Pomona
Judging of the dresses Is sched
uled for May 7. contests are
held on a subordinate, county
and state levels, with winners
going to National Grange. The
contest Is opt a to all Grange
women, and those sponsored by
members of the Oregon Maie
Grange, and will close April 30.

were recent callers at the C. C.

Donald Majeske spent a coup
le of days last week at the home
of his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Gene Majeske, from his school
at Pacific University in forest
Grove. Ginger Majeske, who is
attending school in Pendleton, Is
visiting her parents this week.
J. Huber, father of Dr. H. S.
Huber, has been a patient in
the hospital in Pendleton where
he is suffering from a broken
hip received in a fall at his
home.
Mrs. Kenneth Palmer, Mrs.
Clell Rea and Mrs. Dallas Rea
and daughters of Condon were
Pendleton callers one day this
week.
Merle Cornelison, who has
been a patient in Community
Hospital in Pendleton, has been
transferred to Pioneer Memorial
hospital where she is recuperating.
Mrs. Dorothy Edwards and
Mrs. Shirley McCarl traveled to
Portland on business one day
last week.
