The matter of extending the administrators' index from il1 1 lo 11 months was also tabled until next Monday night. If the index were extended to the five in the district, it would mean an additional $1503 approxi mately, Supt. Hon Daniels said, averaging S'iOO per year per ad ministrator. Budget to qo Up The Gazette-Times Tuesday asked Supt. Daniels to interpret the salary proposals Into cost figures. He said that if no sal ary increase were given nor olher additional benefits agreed upon, the normal annual incre ments to the present staff of teachers would mean $14,531 more in the 1969-70 budget, ahovo the 19C8-69 budget. The district's proposal of $10 per teacher towards the insur ance plan and $5 per month for those who work less than three fourths time could cost as much as $15,709 per year, provided all employees participate. The plan would apply to both teacners and classified employees. If the base salary were in creased to $6300 and increments left at 4, the budget would be increased in its Instruction section by some $49,000, Daniels said. Adding another $3 to the in surance contribution to bring it to $13 per month per teacher from the district would mean an additional $4680. Thus, if the district should agree to all the current com mittee proposals, the total ad dition to the budget would ap proximate $69,000. If it becomes neceessary to appoint an arbitration commit tee, it will have the responsi bility of attempting to reach an agreement, but the board is not bound by law to accept its findings.
