Visit With Relatives
"We had ideal weather for the
whole trip until we neared Pen
dleton," commented Mrs. Sarah
Adkins, who returned to Pendle
ton on Sunday from nearly a
months trip to St. Louis, Miss.,
where she went early in De
cember to spend time visiting
friends and relatives.
Mrs. Adkins stayed with her
86-year-old sister, Mrs. T. E.
Hogan, in St. Louis, and visited
with numerous nieces and neph
ews. She also visited her brother,
Rosco Buchner, and another sis
ter, Mrs. Ruby Wallace, with
whom she did some sightseeing
in her home town of Rollo, Miss.,
where she was born and raised.
Mrs. Adkins, who made the trip
east by train, said also that she
was delighted with the opportun
ity to visit old friends and rel
atives, some of whom she hadn't
seen for 52 years, since she lived
in the aiea as a girl.
