STEWARDSHIP
NO MAN HAS YET REVEALED LIFE'S MYSTIC FOUNT
NOR FIGURED OUT THE DEBT TO WHOSE ACCOUNT.
COULD LIFE BE JUST A LOAN. FOR WHICH THERE MUST
BE STEWARDSHIP BASED ON A SACRED TRUST?
AND SURELY THERE MIGHT BE SOME HONEST PLAN
FOR US TO JUSTIFY THE NAME OF MAN
THE REASONING EXISTENCE ON THIS EARTH
TO PROVE, BY HOW WE HANDLE LIFE, OUR WORTH.
NOT JUST THE CONSCIOUS LIFE WE CALL OUR OWN,
BUT OTHERS IN WHOSE COMPANY WE'RE THROWN;
TO NEVER WILLFULLY BETRAY OR HURT
THE LEAST OF THESE, NOR THOUGHTLESSLY PERVERT
A LESSER LIFE BY NEEDLESS SUFFERING.
THINK YOU THERE ALSO MAY BE SUCH A THING
AS STEWARDSHIP FOR LIVES WITHIN OUR CARE
THE ANIMALS AND CREATURES OF THE AIR?
THE GOLDEN RULE APPLIES TO ALL OR NONE:
DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD BE DONE.
IN FACT I'D JUST AS SOON PLUNGE DEEP A KNIFE
INTO MY BABE AS MAIM SOME CREATURE'S LIFE!
KILL IF YOU MUST, BUT DON'T FOR MERCY'S SAKE
INFLICT SHEER TORTURE ON THE LIFE YOU - TAKE.

Tips Give Secret
Of Keeping Tree
Fresh, Healthy
Keeping your Christmas tree
looking fresh and healthy is
not hard if you know how.
I The big secret is to see the
tree eels plenty of water. One
easy way to do this is to mount
the tree in a bucket filled near
the top with water. Use rocks
to hold the tree upright. You 11
have to watch the water level.
A tree takes up water more
quickly than most people think.
The butt of the tree should
be re-cut just before you put
it Into the water for best re
sults since the original cut tends
to seal itself off rather quick
ly. You can also improve the
water absorption by cutting the
trunk at an agle to expose
more absorbing surface to the
water.
Naturally the tree should be
put away from any heat sour-j-
es which would dry it out. A
tree can become quite dry be
fore it shows any signs of wilt
ing, and in this condition be
comes a serious fire hazard.
Keeping the tree well watered
will keep hazard to a minimum.
Safety dictates a careful ex
amination of light string wir
ing for frayed or broken snots.
The lights should never be on
unless someone is awake in th?
house. A fire in the home is
a sad adjunct to the Christmas
holidays.
