gon Green Association.
Of the 822 man-causea ures
reported, 256 were caused by
smokers and 164 by campers
who failed to extinguish their
open camp fires. Oregon's fire
season began this year in many
parts of the state on May 1. By

gon's fire season became effect
ive October 16, 1968.
Early rains In August with
general rains near the end of
September and the first two
weeks in October lessened the
forest fire hazard. Last year a
