Their wedding trip took them
to points of interest along the
Washington, Oregon and Calif
ornia coasts.
The bride resigned her posit
ion as elementary teacher in
the Heppner schools last spring,
alter teaching in the lower
grades the past 11 years.
Mr. Warner is Director of De
velopment at Northwest Christ
ian college In Eugene. The
couple will make their home at
4290 High Street in Eugene.

Anderson, will become the bride

son of Mrs. June Field, all of
Heppner, on Monday, August

Vows will be exchanged at
an 11:00 a.m. ceremony at All
Saints' Episcopal church, with
a reception following in the
parish hall.
The couple takes this means
of extending a cordial invita
tion to their friends and rela
tives to attend the wedding and
reception.
Pvt. Cooper will be on leave
from military service with the
U. S. Army, stationed at Fort
Lewis, Wash. He has completed
basic training and expects to
leave soon for overseas duty.
Elks Duplicate Club
To Aid Eye Clinic
Duplicate bridge club of Hepp
ner Elks Lodge 358 will sponsor
a charity bridge party on Tues
day evening, August 27, in the
Elks Temple. Proceeds of the
evening will benefit the Elks'
Eye Clinic fund, one of the ma
jor lodge projects.
Duplicate bridge will be in
play, starting at 8:00 p.m., It
will be open to the public and
anyone interested is invited to
attend. Further information may

with the pink and white color
scheme chosen by the bride for
her Friday wedding.

Mrs. Gertson Leaves
For Extended Trip
Mrs. Clara Gertson left by
plane from Portland on Sunday,
August 18, for St. Paul, Minn.,
where she was to attend a dir
ector's meeting with the nat
ional officers of the Degree of
Honor Protective Association.
Mrs. Gertson Is currently serv
ing as national treasurer of the
organization, until the next na
tional convention in St Paul in
August, 1969, as well as state
director of Oregon. She was
joined on the trip by Mrs. Es
ther Morgan, national vice-president,
of Shelton, Wash.
En route she planned a stop
over in Aurora, 111., to visit a
grandson and wife, Mr. and
Mrs. Jeffrey Anhorn. On her re
turn Mrs. Gertson will stop in
Denver to join a Tauck Tour,
starting August 24, for tours of

The bride, deaughter of Dr.
and Mrs. H. S. Huber, was es
corted to the altar by her fath
er. Her gown of white crepe was
designed with lace empire style
waist, featured long pointed lace
sleeves, and an attached train
of crepe material with wide lace
borders. Her floor length veil
was held in place by a crown
of net and pearls.
Attending the bride as maid
of honor was Miss Connie Dav
is, a cousin.
Candle lighters were Miss
Lucy Huber, sister of the bride,
and Ernie Hurley, a cousin.
Attendants wore bright pink
satin gowns with lace jackets,
veils and sandals of matching
pink.
The groom was attended by
Jim Medcalf, his former room
mate at Walla Walla college.
Ushers seating the guests
were David and Gary Huber,
both brothers of the bride.
Wedding selections were fur
nished by Mrs. Dick Bredemeier,
Merlena Norton and . Mr. and
Mrs. R. A. Hurley.
Mrs. Huber, mother of the
bride, wore an off white crepe
A-line style sheath dress with
three quarter length sleeves.
Following the ceremony, the
couple greeted friends and rela
tives at a reception held in the
church recreation hall. Mrs. R.
L. Davis, Milton-Freewater, was
in charge of reception arrange
ments. Assisting with serving was
Mrs. Duane Gerking, Prosser,
Wn., who cut and served the
wedding cake. Mrs. Juan John
son, Kirkland, Wn., and Nancy
Turner, Bellevue, Wn., both
cousins of the bride, assisted
with serving also.
Gift table attendant was Mrs.
Leo Roloff, Milwaukie, and Gail
Fender, Portland, was in charge
of the guest book.
The couple left on a wedding
trip to Stephenville, Texas,
where a reception will be held
for the groom's friends and rela
tives. He is the son of Mrs. Sam
Hunter, Stephenville, and the
late Mr. Chaney.
The couple will reside at
Tumwater, Wn., where Chaney
will teach in the history depart
ment of the Junior High school

Point and other coastal areas

ment of Miss Elaine Faye Kop
perud, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. James Kopperua of Spring
field, to Mark Harold Reitan,
son of Rev. and Mrs. John E.
Reitan, Richland, Wash.
Miss Kopperud is a graduate
of Springfield High school and
the University of Oregon. She
will teach elementary school
music in Hopkins, Minn., this
fail.
Reitan is a graduate of Rich
land High school and Califor
nia Lutheran college. He will
be a second year student at
Luther Theological Seminary in
St. Paul, Minn., this fall.
He is currently serving as in
terim pastor at Valby Lutheran
church, lone, and Hope Luther
an church in Heppner during
the summer months.
