Youngsters Need Hunting Licenses
Juvenile hunters are advised
that they must have the regu
lar adult hunting licenses and
tags if they hunt big game ani
mals this fall. The Game Com
mission issued this reminder to
day since many of these young
sters first purchase the juvenile
hunting license and then later
on decide to accompany parents
on big game hunting expedit-ios.
Juvenile hunters from 14
through 17 years of age who
hunt nongame or small game
animals only may hunt on the
juvenile hunting license which
costs $2. However, juveniles 12
ears of age or older must po
ssess the regular adult hunting
icense and big game tags when
hunting big game animals. Par
ents and youngsters should
make this decision well in ad
vance of the seasons, for if the
youngster first purchases the
juvenile license and later de
cides to hunt big game, he gets
no rebate on the cost of the big
game license and tag.
Juveniles under 14 years of
age are not required to have
a license to hunt small game
and nongame animals such as
upland game birds, rabbits, and
others, but they must be accom
panied in the field by an adult.
Youngsters under 12 cannot
hunt big game.
Nonresident juveniles are re
quired to have the regular non
lesident hunting licenses and
tags.
