from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on
July 1, 1908, at Boardman City
Hall; Heppner Elementary
School: Ione High School: Rhea
Creek Grange Hall; Lexington
School; A. C. Houghton School,
in said school district, for the
purpose of submitting to the
qualified voters of said district
the question of increasing the
tax levy for the fiscal year 19f8
1909 over the amount limited by
section 11. article XI. of thb
Constitution of Oregon.
The reasons for increasing
such levy are:
1. Remodeling for Heppner
and Ione Schools
2. Increased Teacher Salaries
3. Increased Custodian, Cooks
and Secretaries Salaries
4. Increase in Social Security
and Retirement Costs.
The amount of tax. in excess
of the constitutional limitation,
proposed to be levied for said
fiscal year is $751,462.00, which,
expressed as a rate of levy, is
estimated at $8.85 per thousand
dollars of true cash value of
taxable property within the dis
