Conducts Appeal
Letters were mailed recently
to resident of Morrow county,
the 1908 Salvation Army mem
bership campaign to provide
funds for the work of the local

was announced bv the commit
tee chairman, Ted Smith.
The mail appeal is being us
ed this year because of the death
recently of James Hoyer, Salva
tion Army service extension rep
resentative, who would have
conducted the campaign in this
rea. No replacement has been
named vet, necessitating reach
ing local supporters of The Sal
vation Army by mail this year.
Response to this appeal and
bv other local citizens is nec
essary to maintain all the serv
ices provided through The Sal
vation Army service extension
committee, the chairman stated.
These funds provide help to
those in need throughout the
coming year In this area.
The local Salvation Armv
committee is the channel
through which funds for food,
lodging, aid to transients, emer
gency medical aid. camp.'lups
lor the disadvantaged, aid to
unwed mothers and military
packs of toiletries for all newly-
inducted service men are pro
vided, a total of some 23 serv
ices in all.

DETERMINATIONS
WHEREAS, the Oregon Stale
Game Commission at its stated
meeting held on November 3
and 16, 1967, pursuant to ORS
496.190 by written findings and
determinations established the
open seasons tor angling lor
salmon and jack salmon;
WHEREAS, in the judgment
of said Commission, it is in the
best interests of the salmon and
iack salmon resource in the Col
umbia River that said findings
and determinations be modified
by closing to angling for salmon
and lack salmon tor a limited
period a portion of said stream;
THEREFORE. IT Is OKDEiiKD
that the findings and determin
ations of the Oregon State Game
Commission adopted at the stat
ed meeting of said Commission
on November 3 and 16, 1967, re
spectively, hereby are modified
as follows:
That the season is closed to
angling for salmon and jack
salmon in that portion of the
Columbia River from the As-toria-Megler
Bridge to Bonne
ville Dam from 12:01 a.m.,
May 27, 1968 to 12:01 a.m.
June 22, 1968; and in that
portion of Columbia River
from Bonneville Dam to the
Oregon - Washington state
line from 12:01 a.m. May 27,
1968, to 12:01 a.m. July 27,
1968.
