Club Entertains Family Groups

BOARDMAN The annual
family dinner of the Boardman
Garden Club was held Monday
night of last week nt the Green
field Grange hall with 21 at
tending. Special guests were
Rev. and Mrs. George Neeiey and
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Chilman. Mrs.
Neeiey received the door prize.
Rev. Neeiey and Chilman sang
four songs aerompnnied by Mrs.
Chilman, "Beautiful Ohio",
"Three Coins In A Fountain",
"Steal Away". "Nobody Knows
But Jesus". Mrs. Rod Flue show
ed picture slides of Italy, taken
by her brotner, Jim Minor, who
Is stationed tnere. Mrs. Koy Ball
gave the commentary. Mrs. Ball
was in charge of the program.
Mrs. Glen Carpenter and Mrs,
Rollin Bishon were in charge of
decorating the tables.

Ball, Mrs. Ralph Earwood, Mrs.
Leo Root, Mr. and Mrs. Walter

The city park committee met

at the city hall and accepted a
final plan for the new park.

$12 to CARE.
It was also voted to bring old
eye glasses to the next meeting
to send to "Eyes for the Needy.

The annual congregational
meeting of Boardman Commu
nity church was held Tuesday
night of last week at the church,
starting with potluck supper at
6:30. Leo Potts was moderator.
Mrs. Roy Ball, Sr., was elected
Sunday School superintendent,
and Shirley Kruger will be the
assistant superintendent. Yearly
reports were read from the
church, Sunday School and La
dies Aid Society. Trustees are
Harold Rash, Dewey West and
Mrs. Leo Root. Elders are Mrs.
Arnin Hug and Leo Potts. One
more elder is still to be elected.
Rev. George Neeiey gave his
report for the year.
There were three tables of pi
nochle in play at the card party
last week at the Greenfield
Grange hall, sponsored by the
Home Economics Club of the
grange. High prize went to Mrs.
Walter Wyss, and the low was
won by Mrs. Glen Carpenter.

The regular meeting of the
Camn 5 Womens Club was held
last Wednesday with Mrs. Ruth
Jordan in charge of the meet
ing. Mrs. Jordan was also the
hostess. During the meeting, at
which seven members were pres
ent, the club voted to again have
the retresnment stand at me
Camp 5 Lake the week-end of
the opening of the fishing sea
son. Barbara Mortimore is tne
chairman of this committee. The
door prize was won by Terry
Todd with bingo prizes going to
Barbara Mortimore, Mane Kho
ton, Terry Todd, and Betty Mur-
dock.
Mr. and Mrs. Dick Reece and
son of Joseph visited over tne

Lumber Meeting

Norris returned Saturday from
a week in San Francisco, Calif.,
where they attended the 31st
annual convention of the West
ern Council of Lumber and Saw
mill Workers. Mr. Norris was a
delegate from Local 2916.
While there the couple visit
ed with Mr. and Mrs. Danny
Apperson in Oakland, Calif., and
they also visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Ernest Apperson in Mc
Cloud, Calif. On Sunday even
ing Mr. and Mrs. Norris receiv
ed word that their son Kenneth,
who is at McChord Field, Wash.,
had been promoted to the rank
of sergeant.
Mrs. Everett Stewart left last
week for Connorsville, Okla., to
make an extended visit with
relatives.
