the Game Commission, this Is
one of the provisions of the new
anti-pollution law now in effect.
The law provides that it is
unlawful to discard any glass,
cans, or other trash, rubbish, de
bris, or litter on land within 100
yards of the ocean or any other
water except In receptables pro
vided for holding such material.
It also prohibits a person from
discarding similar material in
any waters, including the ocean.
Several fishermen have been ar
rested in recent weeks for viola
tions of this nature, Phil Schnei
der, state game director, indi
cated. Schneider urged fishermen
and hunters, as well as other
outdoor recreationists, to discon
tinue the all too frequent prac
tice of using the public waters
and beaches as a dumping
ground.
